Founder and CEO

Rod Doyle is the Founder and CEO of Plugged-IN CPA Accounting and Tax. With a CA, CPA, and the CPA In-Depth tax course, Rod can offer exceptional financial advice to his clients. Before founding Plugged-IN CPA Accounting and Tax, he worked with a public practice firm for almost 13 years.

 

His advanced knowledge of accounting and tax empowers him to make good decisions for the firm. Rod pushes the team to be constantly innovating to provide consistent, timely, accurate information.

 

Rod is a problem solver and a business enthusiast, so he opened a firm that could help clients through various complex business and tax issues. He seeks to empower his clients with his extensive knowledge and modern business tools.

 

After work, Rod can be found with his friends and family or out on the golf course.

 

Alana Nicklin, CPA

Chief Operating Officer

Alana Nicklin completed her CPA designation from the CPA Atlantic School of Business after obtaining her BBA from the University of New Brunswick. While at UNB, Alana graduated with a major in accounting, a minor in economics, and a concentration in finance. Her exceptional management skills make her the perfect candidate for running much of the firm's day-to-day business. ​

 

When signing up as a new client of Plugged-IN CPA you will likely meet Alana as part of the onboarding team. Alana is passionate about business owners having up-to-date information; she is an expert at building processes and systems that fit clients' lives and takes that pain points out of record keeping. Her love for helping people succeed and understanding that every client is different make her perfect for this role.

 

Before joining us, she worked as a manager at another local public practice firm specializing in audit and advisory. This experience provided her the skills necessary to manage our year-end team that prepares audits, reviews, and notice to reader engagements. ​

 

In her spare time, Alana enjoys coaching ringette, hiking, and attempting to garden.

Mike McSorley, CPA

Small Business Manager

Mike graduated with a bachelor of business administration with honours in accounting and economics. He completed the CPA program in 2016 and is currently working part time on an MBA degree from UNB. Throughout his degree, Mike enjoyed being part of a vibrant, diverse campus community.

 

Originally from St.Stephen, Mike settled in Fredericton because of the small-town feel, the many activities, and the great weather.

 

Mike's education, and his background in industry has given him the understanding to help clients understand the help explain the issues that are important to them.

 

When not in the office, Mike enjoys staying active, whether that is going for a hike or playing recreational hockey or football.

 

Jaclyn Wood, BComm

Payroll Manager

Jaclyn graduated from Saint Mary's University with her Bachelor of Commerce degree in 2008. She has worked for the past 11 years in HR and Finance roles.

As a Senior Associate, Jaclyn not only maintains her own portfolio but also oversees and provides training to our more junior staff. Jaclyn has advanced certification in QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and Sage 50.

 

Before joining us she was a Senior Associate with J L Wood bookkeeping. During her tenure there, she displayed exemplary management skills while overseeing multiple businesses in the fields of consulting, real estate, retail, and non-profits. Jaclyn enjoys helping companies reach their maximum potential.

 

While not on the clock, Jaclyn enjoys spending time with her husband Mike and their girls Macie & Emily.

Molly Pittman, BBA

Staff Accountant

Molly Pittman recently graduated from the University of New Brunswick, where she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with honors in economics, finance, and accounting. Currently, she is working towards her CPA designation and plans to study for her CFA designation following.

 

Molly was amongst the first cohort of "summer students" we welcomed into Plugged-IN CPA Accounting & Tax, which transitioned into welcoming her full-time, post-graduation. During Molly's degree, she was very heavily involved in extracurricular activities and programs. She gained valuable skills and knowledge, which has proven to help her start her career with us. Currently, Molly prepares many of our year-end engagements and corporate tax returns.

 

When she is not in the office, you can find Molly hanging out with friends or visiting her grandparents!

 

Allie Rippin, BBA 

Staff Accountant

Allie obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of New Brunswick. She graduated with an Honours in Accounting.

 

Her duties include personal and corporate tax returns. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and cats (Opal and Onyx).

Originally from Minto, Allie worked in St. John, gaining valuable experience with Ernst and Young before moving back to Fredericton in 2020 to be closer to family and friends. She is a valued addition to our team.

Letishia Harris

Senior Associate

Letishia Harris joined the Plugged-IN team in October, 2020

With a business accounting degree from NBCC and more than 20 years of experience working in bookkeeping, company tax filing, Letishia is adept at all aspects of business finances and tax fillings, such as HST and payroll returns. She is also an expert at personal tax preparation. 

 

Her home is in Harvey, New Brunswick where she owns a small farm.  In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

 

Lubna Khoury, BBA

Associate

Lubna attended the New Brunswick Community College before obtaining her Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick. She graduated with honours in human resources management and a concentration in accounting.

 

Lubna's plan is to start the CPA program in the near future. Currently her duties include bookkeeping, HST and payroll. Clients love the energy and care she brings to her work.

When she is not working, she spends her days gardening, painting, and hanging out with her dog, Sophie and Fiancé, Will.

Nick Butler

Nick Butler, BBA

Associate

Nick Butler is a graduate from the University of New Brunswick's bachelor of business administration program where he concentrated in accounting. After graduating from the University of New Brunswick, Nick joined us as an Associate.

With his enthusiasm for learning new things he has proved to be an asset to our team. Nick loves meeting new people and prides himself on building long-lasting professional relationships.

 

When he is not working, you will find him either at the ball field or the hockey rink. His passion for sports has helped him become an excellent team member.

 

Alex McLaggan

Associate

An NBCC graduate with a degree in business administration and accounting, Alex is well-prepared for the profession of accounting. He has always been good at math, and unlike many people he knew, he has always enjoyed doing taxes.

He has a talent for automating accounting and business processes using software, and troubleshooting software problems on numerous platforms.

When he's not in the office, he spends his time playing historically-themed games or watching movies that have historical stories to tell. Most of all, he loves spending time with his son, and can frequently be found watching Paw Patrol and rearranging the Thomas the Tank Engine play set.

Jody Lavigne

Associate

Jody comes to us with 20 years of combined experience working within the bookkeeping and administrative field. She graduated from CompuCollege in 2001 with an Executive Assistant Diploma. Jody is currently working toward an Accounting Certificate through the University of Athabasca. Upon completing her accounting courses, she plans to work toward her Payroll Certification as she has a thirst for knowledge.

 

Jody has worked for many diverse corporations throughout her career. She has strong attention to detail and enjoys going above and beyond to meet the needs of her clients. She is known for her happy-go-lucky personality, sense of humor, and infectious smile.

 

Jody is originally from Fredericton, born and raised. She enjoys volunteering, spending time with friends and family, gardening, and outdoor activities when not working.

 

Trish Coulson

Customer Care Specialist

Trish Coulson has 25 years of remarkable experience in International Banking, Trish knows customer service. She has the perfect combination of financial experience, business knowledge, and friendliness. She is professional, and a joy to work with.

Trish joined Plugged-IN CPA Accounting and Tax as an associate bookkeeper and customer care specialist. She goes to great lengths to ensure our clients’ needs are met. She will be the friendly face when you walk in, and when she is not serving clients, she is keeping their books.

Before joining the team she worked in international banking. Within her tenure, she had served clients with many different financial aspirations. After a detailed study of her client’s profile and banking requirements, she will recommend a fiscal plan that corresponds exactly to the needs of that client. 

When not on duty, you will find her either in the kitchen experimenting with new recipes (yum!) or reading a book. She loves shoes and has a footwear collection that would make anyone jealous.

Judy Wood 

Senior Associate (retired)

Judy is the founder of J L Wood & Associates Inc. which began operations in 2008. With more than 30 years of experience in accounting and finance management, Judy understands the financial challenges faced by business corporations and not-for-profit organizations.

Judy is also a seasoned business leader and facilitator. She provides one-on-one customized training to assist companies in setting up their financial management practices.

 

In her spare time, Judy enjoys travelling, golfing, playing bridge and spending time with her grandchildren.

 

Daphne Cowe

Senior Associate (retired)

Daphne specializes in managing large and ongoing financial projects for small and medium-sized businesses. With over 30 years’ experience in business management and bookkeeping, and as co-owner of a successful construction company for 20 years, Daphne especially enjoys assisting clients within the healthcare and construction sectors.

Daphne is an advanced user of Sage 50 accounting software and has expertise in bookkeeping, payroll administration, project allocation, government filings, and financial statements.

Originally from Moncton, Daphne has made Fredericton her home since 1990, where she enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time in nature with her husband Jim, daughter Cathy, son-in-law Scott and granddaughter Freya.
